Perpetual Time, a luxury watch repair and restoration service, prides itself on delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship. With fully qualified WOSTEP (Watchmaker of Switzerland Training Education Program) certification and training from the British Horological Institute, they offer customers complete peace of mind that their valuable timepieces are in expert hands.
When Perpetual Time approached us, they were in need of a new website to showcase their exceptional work, along with high-quality photography to complement it.
The goal was to make the site not only visually appealing but also user-friendly, making it easy for customers to explore their services and get in touch. The photographs had to match the sophistication of brands like Rolex and Cartier, as their iconic timepieces would feature on the website.
One of the biggest challenges was capturing the intricate details of these luxury watches. Every piece had its own unique characteristics that needed to be emphasised to communicate the precision and care that goes into dismantling, repairing, and restoring these high-value items. The photography had to reflect the brand’s dedication to excellence and the beauty of each timepiece, from their well-used, slightly damaged state to their fully restored, showroom-ready condition.
We created before-and-after shots, expertly capturing the wear on the ‘before’ watches and highlighting the immaculate transformation post-restoration. These side-by-side photos truly illustrated the skill and care involved in Perpetual Time’s work.
To really bring out the craftsmanship and complexity of the process, we used macro photography to get up close and personal with the watches. We wanted to show the real-life beauty and intricate detail of these timepieces, avoiding the artificial look that can sometimes come with 3D rendered images. Instead, our shots were taken inside Perpetual Time’s bespoke workshop, where the light was carefully managed to accentuate key features of the watches. Macro photography requires precision in lighting, as well as a technique called focus stacking. In some cases, up to 25 images were layered to ensure every tiny detail was in perfect focus.
The final results were stunning. The macro shots captured the elegance and precision of the timepieces, giving website visitors a true sense of the delicate work involved in the repair and restoration process. With the new website and photography, Perpetual Time now has a platform that not only highlights their expertise but also reflects the luxury and care that define their brand.
