Wall art is all the rage right now, and we were thrilled to be given the task of designing a huge 21-metre wall print for the Morrisons Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. This brand-new learning hub in Deeside is set to be the heart of the Morrisons Manufacturing Lean Programme.
We jumped at the chance to add a splash of creativity. Our mission? To create a stunning design that would stretch across an entire interior wall, from floor to ceiling.
The brief was as exciting as it was challenging: illustrate a timeline showcasing the evolution of Morrisons retail stores from 1899 to today, while also charting the history of their manufacturing division from 1942 onwards. With a tight deadline and a lot riding on this project, we were ready to bring our A-game, eager to show off our creative chops and our ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
First up, we headed to the site to measure up the wall sections. The centre was still in its final phase of construction, but even in its raw state, we could tell this facility was going to be an epic environment for learning.
Despite the extraordinary length of the wall, we approached the briefing and design process with our usual precision. We worked closely with the programme manager and Morrisons brand team to ensure every detail was on point—content accurate, design on-brand, and all boxes ticked.
Collaborating with multiple decision-makers can be tricky, especially when feedback starts to get subjective. But with our experience as a design agency, we’re pros at guiding the decision-making process to achieve the best outcome. Fortunately, the design spoke for itself, and we reached sign-off faster than expected.
Once the design was finalised, we handed it over to the printer, who took on the task of printing and installing the wall art at the learning centre, just in time for the new programme delegates to admire it the following week.
All in all, this project was a fantastic opportunity to flex our creative muscles and deliver something truly spectacular for Morrisons.
